Sharon Galvan, Neighbor

Sharon Galvan is a northeast Ohio native.  She graduated from The University of Dayton with a degree in Communication Arts with a concentration in public relations and journalism.  After stints in sales and hospitality and moves to Omaha and Columbus, she and her husband, Mike and two children returned to the area in 1999 and chose Strongsville as their home.  Sharon previously wrote for Suburban News Publications in Columbus where she covered two municipal beats.  Currently, she works as an office manager. 

Sharon’s kids, Brad and Corinne, would say she asks an awful lot of questions.  Don’t most moms ask a lot of questions?  Regardless, it’s a good thing for writers to do!     

Her Patch column, Extra Credit, focuses on the students of Strongsville City Schools and Sts. Joseph and John and primarily what they do outside of the classroom in terms of clubs and organizations and outreach within the school and the community.
